Sniper Ghost Warrior title

Project Description

The Sniper Ghost Warrior Franchise is a well-established franchise as a first-person tactical shooter game. The franchise focuses on a semi-realistic setting in modern day with solving puzzles by shooting over long distances.

This project is currently still in developent and falls under NDA. Therefore a lot of the things I did, cannot be disclosed.

Summery

I joined as a intern System Designer, and was hired after my internship as Junior System Designer. I worked on two different sniper titles in Unreal Engine 5, where my focus was on the weapon systems, gadgets, UI, and mission system. I also supported other systems.

Main responsibilities

  • Weapon system implementation

    • ​I was responsible for the research and  design documentation of the weapon system as well as early prototyping. The system got an overhaul compared to previous projects as a new reticle system was designed.

  • Level interactables​

    • I designed placable objects for level designers to create puzzles with.​

  • Gadgets. 

    • I created a large variety of gadgets that could be used to enhance the combat and puzzles fitting with the game's vision. ​

  • Mission system.

    • I designed the progression and exploration system of the game.​

  • UI ​

    • I designed the map interaction system and its interaction with other systems such as combat and the save system. I also assisted other designers with implementation of the menu screens.

  • AI 

    • I worked on the design for different archetypes of enemies in collaboration with other designers.

While I had other responsibilities as well, these could not be disclosed as they are part of the USP.

Valued Experiences

I learned a lot about proper design documentation for other designers and programmers. Beyond that I learned to set up larger systems than I did before and work in a high-paced ever changing environment.

While working on this the company made lots of changes including large team composition and change to working fully remotely.
